SAN ANTONIO – Gallus Medical Detox Centers (Gallus), announces the opening of its San Antonio, Texas medical clinic.  Using proprietary, evidence-based protocols delivered by highly trained and experienced medical staff, Gallus provides innovative inpatient drug and alcohol medical detoxification services. Patients live in comfortable, private rooms during the process, an ideal environment for healing. We invite the media to come and take a look next week, the week of April 11th, 2022.

The opening of Gallus’ San Antonio clinic comes at a crucial time. The Centers for Disease Control reports the United States for the first time ever surpassed 100,000 deaths in a year from substance use overdoses. And the CDC also reports that Texas saw a 36% increase in overdose deaths year over year from April 2019-2020 to April 2020-2021. Gallus offers personalized medical detoxification treatment to safely and effectively clear the body of substances that drive addiction while offering significantly reduced trauma, anxiety, depression, and discomfort during the process.

The state-of-the-art inpatient medical clinic will offer patients Gallus’s new, fentanyl-focused, Accelerated Micro Induction (AMI) protocol for opioid use disorder. This new medical detox program makes it much more accessible and comfortable for fentanyl-using clients to safely and effectively transition off the drug. Many opioid use disorder patients will not seek treatment because they know withdrawal symptoms are so extreme. The Gallus Method has been clinically shown to reduce the severity of withdrawal symptoms, shorten treatment time and help patients successfully go into aftercare treatment and achieve long-term recovery.

The San Antonio center also treats the growing problem of physical dependence from benzodiazepines, highly addictive sedative drugs, (known as Xanax or Valium) that are often prescribed on a long-term basis to treat a range of conditions, including panic and anxiety disorders, seizures, and insomnia. Gallus offers a unique taper program to support patients entering into aftercare programs.

The Gallus Method provides the highest quality care for acute substance use disorder patients who require medically monitored treatment for withdrawal. Gallus staff also treat patients with alcohol, stimulant, and polysubstance use disorders. Gallus specializes in treating complicated patients who have had unsuccessful detox treatments, use higher doses and or multiple substances with co-occurring health issues. Doctors and nurses have the expertise to treat the whole patient.

“America is facing unprecedented substance use disorder deaths, but reducing overdose deaths is not an insurmountable feat. By opening a new location in San Antonio, Gallus is offering a proven and safe service that encompass dignity and comfort in a nonjudgmental setting,” says Shannon Weir, RN, Director of Clinical Education & Quality Assurance. “Gallus is so proud of the work it has done to develop medical options that address the fear of withdrawal and increase success, and we look forward to helping patients in the San Antonio area who will greatly benefit from these services.”

Gallus is also known for its personalized aftercare plan for each patient. This work begins when patients enter treatment, so that the next step of their recovery journey can start immediately.  This puts patients on a path to living happy, productive, substance-free lives.

The new clinic is located at 8230 North Loop 1604 West, Suite 215 in San Antonio. Gallus invites the media for a tour and interviews —- Please call Jen Marnowski at 404-309-1137. For more information please visit www.gallusdetox.com or call 888-306-3122 for Admissions.
