Gallus Medical Detox Centers: Where Clinical Expertise Meets Compassionate Care

The road to recovery begins with detoxification. And yet, this necessary process comes with several mental, medical, and psychological challenges that make an already difficult process even more frightening for patients and families alike.

Our detox programs are medication-assisted and fully supported by evidence-based behavioral health therapies to provide the most effective treatment possible. Ensuring patients have a qualified and compassionate team in their corner during what is often an unpleasant experience can mean the difference between lasting recovery and relapse.

GETTING HELP

What Is MAT Therapy?

Medication-assisted treatment therapy, or MAT Therapy, is the physician-guided administration of medications to ease the symptoms of detox and withdrawal. This is prescribed in combination with one-on-one counseling and behavioral therapy in order to administer patient-first, holistic health care for the treatment of substance use disorders.

Patients that have developed a dependence on substances can experience severe cravings and develop physical withdrawal symptoms when attempting to quit on their own. As symptoms begin to intensify, their resolve to abstain is challenged and is extremely difficult to overcome without medical assistance.

Detox and MAT Therapy With The Gallus Method

As part of our alcohol, barbiturate, benzodiazepine, painkiller, simulant, and opioid treatment programs, our physician and clinical care providers administer counteracting or opioid antagonist medications to hinder the effects of narcotics, illicit substances, and prescription painkillers.

Some examples of approved medications include naltrexone, naloxone, and buprenorphine. This process serves to reduce cravings and uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms, as well as reduce the risk of opioid overdose.

By taking a safe and physician-guided approach to opioid detoxification and substance or opioid addiction treatment, patients can reduce the risk of relapse and severe health issues associated with withdrawal.

The Gallus Method

We use a proprietary application of evidence-based medical protocols that we’ve coined “The Gallus Method”. This is how we prioritize patient comfort and safety while smoothly guiding them through the detox process from start to finish.

Developed by our founder, Dr. Patrick Gallus, The Gallus Method was developed to counteract underperforming detox facilities throughout the country that routinely employ outdated and even dangerous methods for detoxification. Patient safety is promoted as the primary objective of our services.

Withdrawal is conventionally considered non-life-threatening. However, the manifestation of withdrawal symptoms can lead to severe health concerns including, but not limited to, extreme fluid loss, electrolyte abnormalities, blood flow instability, and even death.[1]

The Gallus Medical Detox team also is ready to treat the complications of withdrawal from drugs, alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines, and stimulants, including:

  • Seizures
  • Delirium
  • Dehydration
  • Vomiting
  • Chemical pneumonia
  • Abscesses
  • Prolonged withdrawal
  • Cognitive deficit
  • Hallucinations
  • Paranoia
  • Agitation

How Does Medication Assisted Therapy Work?

At The Gallus Medical Detox Centers, we understand that we are treating the whole person, not just a substance use disorder (SUD).

Dr. Gallus’ proprietary approach is to provide medical detox services that prioritize medical safety administered with professional expertise without compromising patient comfort.

The Gallus Method Process

Evidence-based and individual treatment plans for drug abuse have proven time and again to be far more successful than cookie-cutter plans.

To that end, all of our treatment plans are customized to suit the patient’s needs.

Our teams will conduct comprehensive psychological, physical, and social assessments in order to better understand the patient’s current condition and administer treatment moving forward.

As industry leaders in medical detox, our proprietary and evidence-based IV therapy program is applied in connection with the use of medications that have been specifically designed to avoid cross-addiction.

Our luxury inpatient medical detoxification process offers 24/7 medical supervision to safely treat each patient with efficiency and compassion.

The Gallus Method specifically advances the implementation of industry-leading medical technology to offer cardiac telemetry and video technology. These tools give our team the most medically comprehensive picture to design holistic patient care.

All of our patient care is administered in an upscale, luxurious environment that promotes rest and privacy for a restorative experience.

Together with our expert and compassionate team, we will plan out the next steps toward lasting recovery after MAT Therapy is completed.

What Makes Gallus Medical Detox The Best?

To fully understand the benefits of medication-assisted treatment therapy with Gallus Medical Detox, one must first understand the standards of treatment across other facilities.

If a patient seeks detox assistance at a hospital, the treatment goal is simply to stabilize the patient over a period of five days. A hospital will offer 24/7 access to medical staff, but they may or may not offer IV and oral protocols or a specially trained treatment team.

In a hospital setting, patients are not afforded private rooms and may or may not have TVs for entertainment, and will not have access to their mobile devices during treatment services.

At the other end of the spectrum, there are seven-day residential detox facilities. Their treatment goal is to prepare the patient for psychotherapy. These facilities do not offer IV and oral protocols, 24/7 medical staff, or a specially trained treatment team. Residential detox does provide private rooms or digital entertainment, and most often, they do not allow personal devices.

In contrast, our MAT Therapy Program is an upscale facility where our primary goal is to safely assist patients in effectively achieving personal sobriety. Our proprietary and evidence-based IV and oral medication protocols are administered by 24/7 medical staff and specially trained treatment teams.

Every patient is afforded a private room in a luxurious and peaceful setting. We provide TVs for relaxation and entertainment, and patients are allowed to bring their personal devices. Gallus Medical Detox Centers are also proud to report high levels of customer success:
98% Satisfaction
95% manage anxiety
96% manage pain

As the premier inpatient MAT Therapy families and patients trust, the difference in care and the emphasis on positive patient experience is unmatched.
