A Center of Excellence, using a recent definition from an article in the Journal of Clinical Pathways, March 2019, is defined as “centers made up of highly skilled experts dedicated to specific therapeutic areas who are often at the forefront of innovation in their field.” There are three core aspects to COEs: the team at the center, the particular focus of the center, and the purpose of the center.
Gallus Medical Detox and our proprietary Gallus Method of medical detox embodies these core features:
This program is an extension of the patient’s inpatient medical detox treatment at Gallus, allowing the patient to continue with aftercare with a tapered schedule, allowing them to fully focus on improving their health and wellness.
Gallus has created an innovative way to detox patients off of fentanyl and opioids through our Accelerated Micro Induction Protocol. This protocol lowers patients’ withdrawal scores by 42% per day and shortens the length of stay to 7 days.
Utilizing our proprietary method of detox, Gallus has been successful in detoxing patients up to 350 mg of Methadone.
Our Gallus Method utilizes IV protocol to prioritize patient comfort and safety during detox, and this makes a difference with polysubstance detox. Controlling the patient’s medications through an IV helps patients feel better, and not experience ups and downs like oral medication can cause.

Substance use disorder
With ten years of experience treating substance use disorder (SUD) patients, we have a unique front-line perspective in providing the medical assistance needed to help patients overcome addiction to drugs or aclohol. We’re providing “The Pulse” to alert you to the use of new substances, legal and illegal, increasing severity within opioid, benzodiazepine, and stimulant epidemics, and complications brought on by increasing polysubstance use. We hope you find this information informative and useful in our fight against the growing problem of substance use disorders.
