At Gallus Medical Detox Centers, our goal is to provide comfortable and effective medical detox. Our treatment services differ from other detox centers and hospitals to ensure patient safety. After concerns about other methods used at different detox facilities, Dr. Patrick Gallus created The Gallus Method. With this method, we create personalized, evidence-based treatment plans to meet each patient’s unique needs.

What Is Detox?

Detoxification (or detox) of the body is a natural process. However, when drugs enter the body, they disrupt this process. The body may be unable to handle its natural cleaning process, making the withdrawal from drugs incredibly painful and possibly lethal.

Typical withdrawal symptoms from drugs and alcohol include:

  • Nausea, abdominal cramps, and vomiting
  • Constipation and diarrhea
  • High blood pressure and fast heart rate
  • Tremors and seizures
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Nightmares, hallucinations, and sleeplessness
  • General discomfort

At Gallus Medical Detox Centers, we provide detox treatment to avoid fatal medical risks, psychological challenges, and unpleasant withdrawal symptoms.

Who Is Dr. Gallus?

Dr. Patrick Gallus is the founder and chief medical officer at Gallus Medical Detox Centers. He is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and has over 15 years of experience treating drug and alcohol-related issues.

Why The Gallus Method?

With years of experience in detox treatment, Dr. Gallus became concerned with the methods detox centers around the country were using. He noticed facilities using outdated and dangerous forms of detoxification. To ensure patient safety, he created The Gallus Method. Dr. Gallus states, “[He] became aware of patients being treated in psychiatric facilities, protocols using outdated oral medications, doctors making claims of rapid detox when the laws of physiological half-life support no such theory, and nursing staff that are inexperienced in this critical-care setting.” Dr. Gallus’s biggest concern was the clinical risks associated with medical detox and treatment facilities’ failure to realize them.

What Does The Gallus Method Entail?

To make our treatment more effective, The Gallus Method uses critical features such as:

  • Joint Commission accredited, ASAM Level Ⅲ. 7-D: Medically monitored inpatient detoxification
  • IV therapy to manage withdrawal symptoms comfortably
  • Cardiac and video monitoring to ensure patient safety
  • Daily physician visits
  • Highly qualified nurses with detox and intensive care experience
  • 24/7 medical staffing
  • Personalized treatment that is delivered in a safe and peaceful environment that promotes optimum comfort and ease, with private rooms that include queen beds, free secure WiFi, the use of personal electronics, and a 40” TV in every room
  • A tailored biopsychosocial evaluation that identifies a patient’s next steps and resources in achieving long-term recovery

Our staffs’ knowledge and experience in co-occurring diseases and physical illnesses allow us to use The Gallus Method to meet individual needs.

What Makes The Gallus Method Different?

The Gallus Method differs from other medical detoxes in many areas. We provide safe medical detoxes with up-to-date medication protocols. While most medical detoxes have intermittent or no medical monitoring, we offer regular cardiac telemetry monitoring and video monitoring. Our on-staff physicians have extensive critical care and addiction experience and make sure to visit our patients daily. Gallus Medical Detox Centers are upscale, home-like facilities. We allow full access to electronics and understand the importance of keeping in contact with family, friends, and business. An assessment and development of an individualized aftercare plan are created by a licensed substance abuse counselor to ensure long term substance avoidance. Gallus Medical Detox Centers also provide IV therapy, including IV medications and advanced medication protocols, to fit the patient’s unique circumstances. Other detox centers provide oral medication, a slow process that has no possibility of adjusting to the patient’s needs or comfort. At our centers, we offer various detox options, including:

Detoxing from drugs and alcohol can be painful and sometimes fatal. Our goal at Gallus Medical Detox Centers is to provide you with safe and effective detox treatment. To do this, Dr. Patrick Gallus created The Gallus Method. Other detox treatment facilities use outdated, unsafe medical procedures. We provide adjustable IV medications and advanced medical techniques to meet each of our patients’ unique needs. Cardiac telemetry and regular video monitoring ensure your safety with us. Our board-certified physicians have extensive critical care and have addiction experience to meet your individualized requirements.

We will send you home without new prescriptions to avoid the dangers of cross-addiction and provide you with a substance abuse counselor to create an individualized aftercare plan. By doing this, we set you up for long-term recovery. If you or a loved one need a medical detox and wish to learn more about The Gallus Method, call us at (720) 669-8178.
