On Monday’s “The Extra”, Steve Carleton, Chief Clinical Officer of Gallus Medical Detox Centers, joined host Shannon Brinias to discuss the rise of a substance called “tranq dope” or “tranquilizer dope”, a street drug that’s created through the cutting of xylazine with heroin or fentanyl. Tranq dope leaves users with a different sort of “high”, and also different symptoms of withdrawal, making it more challenging to treat.
