Warren has an over 35-year career successfully growing and scaling business in the financial services, healthcare services, and consumer sectors. He started his career as a CPA for a major international public accounting firm before becoming an attorney and joining the firm of Sullivan & Cromwell in their New York offices, where he practiced securities law. He then joined Morgan Stanley & Co. in their asset management business, where he started their global mutual fund business and was instrumental in growing that to $35 billion of assets.
Warren co-founded First Western Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ:MYFW), a bank holding company, where he served as CEO of First Western Investment Management, Vice Chairman of the holding company, and also sat on the Board of First Western Trust, the company’s bank.
He then co-founded SCB Global Capital Management, a private investment partnership, which is the sponsoring shareholder of Gallus Medical Detox, where he serves as Chairman and Chief Investment Officer.
Warren currently sits on the Boards of The Taiwan Fund, Inc. (NYSE:TWF), Brightwood Capital Advisors, a private equity middle-market lender based in New York City, and the Aetos Funds, SEC registered funds of hedge funds headquartered in New York City and Menlo Park, California.
He has been active in the community on both a local and national level for many years, having sat on the Board of Regents of Georgetown University and the Board of Advisors for the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown. Warren was also on the Board of Directors for Colorado Public Radio for many years; serving as both Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Finance Committee during his tenure. He was also on the Advisory Board for the Bard Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Colorado, Denver and currently sits on the Board of the Denver Zoological Trust, the investment arm of the Denver Zoo.
Warren graduated with a BSBA from Georgetown University and received his JD from the Villanova University of Law, where he was the winner of the award for the first year’s highest grades, a member of the Order of the Coif, and a Case and Comments Editor of the Law Review.
