Who Is Dr. Gallus?

Dr Gallus, Gallus Detox MethodDr. Patrick J. Gallus is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with over 15 years of experience treating drug and alcohol related issues. He is Chief of Staff at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona, where he oversees 270 board-certified physicians and where he developed two emergency medicine departments. During his years as an emergency room physician, Dr. Gallus personally witnessed extreme suffering and loss of life caused by alcohol and drug addiction and was inspired to research and formulate an effective detox program. How Was the Gallus Detox Method Developed?

Dr. Gallus spent more than a decade studying existing detox methods (many of them outdated and dangerous) as well as new ones spawned during that time. He rejected techniques proven to provide questionable safety or comfort such as rapid drug detox with anesthesia, sauna detox and sedated detox though they’re still in use by some facilities today. Instead, his research—involving multiple patients and various addictions—resulted in a method that provides alcohol and drug detoxification through the use of intravenous (IV) based medication therapy and constant monitoring by a qualified medical team. For many suffering from alcohol and drug abuse who are looking for a path back to a normal life, their fear of withdrawal symptoms keeps them from taking the first steps to recovery. Dr. Gallus addressed this fear by developing a method that comfortably relieves withdrawal symptoms while guarding the patient’s safety.

What Is the Gallus Detox Method?

The in-patient Gallus Detox Method concentrates on treating each patient as a person with specific needs, emotions, substances of abuse and outside concerns. A patient’s individualized plan starts with a psychological and social assessment to determine mental condition which is followed by a physical assessment of vital signs, lab testing, history, and a physical exam. Then our detox team meets with the patient to develop a customized detoxification treatment plan which is implemented immediately. During treatment, the patient is fully monitored with cardiac telemetry, video technology and personal attention from our Registered Nurses and Technicians on duty and on site 24 hours a day. NO “rapid drug detox” anesthesia is required.

Due to the potential safety concerns of detoxification, our medical team is comprised of compassionate professionals with a long history of critical care capabilities and skills. All of our personnel and processes are in place to ensure effective and safe detoxification. The detoxification process is a complicated matter. We at Gallus Detox have simplified this process as much as possible. As a result of our diligent efforts we feel very strongly that our method is world class, quite simply the best in the country. We stand by this statement in every act we perform. This unique detox method is available only at our Gallus Detox Centers. Learn more about the Gallus Detox Method.
