Compare Alcohol & Drug Detox Centers

The detox stage sets you on your path to recovery so success here is important to your long-term sobriety. Before choosing the best detox center for you, ask questions of every facility. Do they alleviate detox withdrawal symptoms with an effective IV therapy for immediate relief or are they using slow-acting pills, yoga or saunas? Do they have ICU-level Registered Nurses on staff 24/7 or are they using non-medical "specialists" or "technicians"? Do they offer private rooms and limit the number of patients for personal attention? Do they provide upscale amenities to help you feel at home? Check out these questions to help you compare drug and alcohol detox centers before you decide.

Who Is Dr. Gallus?

Dr Gallus, Gallus Detox MethodDr. Patrick J. Gallus is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with over 15 years of experience treating drug and alcohol related issues. He is Chief of Staff at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona, where he oversees 270 board-certified physicians and where he developed two emergency medicine departments. During his years as an emergency room physician, Dr. Gallus personally witnessed the extreme suffering and loss of life caused by alcohol and drug addiction and was inspired to research and formulate a safe effective detox program. Learn more about Dr. Gallus and our medical team.

How Was the Gallus Medical Detox Method Developed?

Dr. Gallus spent more than a decade studying existing detox methods (many of them outdated and dangerous) as well as new ones spawned during that time. He rejected techniques with questionable safety or comfort such as rapid drug detox with anesthesia, sauna detox and sedated detox programs though they may still be used by other facilities today. Instead, his research—involving multiple patients and various addictions—resulted in a method that provides safe, comfortable alcohol and drug detoxification through the use of intravenous (IV) based medication therapy and constant monitoring by a qualified medical team. For many suffering from alcohol and drug abuse who are looking for a path back to a normal life, their fear of withdrawal symptoms keeps them from taking the first steps to recovery. Dr. Gallus addressed this fear by developing a detox program that comfortably relieves withdrawal symptoms while guarding the patient's safety.

"You have honestly given me a second chance at life. I am so excited to start "LIVING" again. I also really appreciate your help with trying to save my job…" - Read more of what our patients say—their own detox success stories—about how fearful they had been of detoxing and withdrawal, how safe and cared for they felt with our team, and how that experience has changed their lives.

What Is the Gallus Detox Method?

The inpatient Gallus Detox Treatment Method concentrates on treating each patient as a person with specific needs, emotions, substances of abuse and outside concerns. A patient's individualized plan starts with a psychological and social assessment to determine mental condition which is followed by a physical assessment of vital signs, lab testing, history, and a physical exam. Then our detox team meets with the patient to develop a customized detoxification treatment plan which is implemented immediately. During treatment, the patient is fully monitored with cardiac telemetry, video technology and personal attention from our Registered Nurses and Technicians on duty and on site 24 hours a day. NO "rapid drug detox" anesthesia is required.

Due to the potential safety concerns of detoxification, our medical team is comprised of compassionate professionals with a long history of critical care capabilities and skills. All of our personnel and processes are in place to ensure effective and safe detoxification. The detoxification process is a complicated matter. We at Gallus Detox have simplified this process as much as possible. As a result of our diligent efforts we feel very strongly that our method is world class, quite simply the best in the country. We stand by this statement in every act we perform. This unique treatment method is only available at Gallus Detox Centers in Arizona and Texas.
