There is nothing as debilitating as trying to get through withdrawal from opiates. It is usually the reason many opiate drug users just continue on the drug until it causes serious effects on their mental and physical states. The withdrawal symptoms are harsh and uncomfortable and make it very difficult for someone to feel like it is the best thing for them to do. However it is and they must soldier on towards recovery. There are however things one can take in order to survive withdrawal and make it to the other side.
Opiates are made from opium which is extracted from poppy seeds. It is used to create illegal drugs such as heroin and it is used to make pain medications for mild to severe pain riddled patients. These drugs include oxycodone, hydrocodone, percocet, and methadone only to mention a few. The thing with these drugs is the human body develops a tolerance for them very quickly making the effect less and less on the same dosage that one feels the need to up the dosage in order to get the desired effect. This is the point that one becomes addicted. The body then fails to cope without the drug and once the last dosage is taken the withdrawal sets in about six to twelve hours later.
