Drugs are made up of chemicals and chemicals generally cause a reaction to our bodies. The reactions are meant to be on the positive side but sometimes they can be negative, affecting people in different ways. Suboxone is such a drug that was created to help opioid addicted people through the recovery phase after having withdrawn from opioid drugs. Because it is a drug itself if not taken with care it is highly addictive just like the drugs it is helping one to get over, which is why it is recommended to only take under the supervision of a licensed physician. With Suboxone it is greatly advised not to mix it with alcohol as this can cause very dangerous side effects that may even result in death. It is best to avoid any combination of the drug and alcohol. This drug can also cause drowsiness and should be taken when one is settled and not on a job that requires serious concentration or the use of heavy machinery including driving. One’s vision may be impaired and this may cause more harm not just to the person on Suboxone but around them. Again with any medication there may be allergic reactions. With this drug the reactions that should be looked out for include, hives, difficult breathing, swelling of the face, swelling of the tongue, lips and even closing up of the throat. These are very serious and immediate medical attention is needed in order for the person’s life to be saved. With every drug there are the most common side effects that may not necessarily be life threatening but can cause discomfort and should be taken care of by see a doctor. These side effects that may occur while taking suboxone include developing a cough or ones voice may become horse. In other cases one might experience lower back pains, side pains and even headaches. There may also find that they are sweating for no reason even if it is cold. Other patients have even complained of constipation and vomiting. Insomnia may also occur or the complete opposite where one finds it difficult to get up after having taken the medication. With these side effects if they persist then one must consult their doctor before they become too serious. In some very serious cases, that can be deemed call for an ambulance immediately side effects, apart from the above mentioned allergic reactions. It is imperative for a patient to seek immediate medical attention when they start having difficulty in breathing or slowed breathing because this can lead to fatal outcomes. When eating one may start to have difficulty in swallowing and then and upset stomach this is seen as need for immediate action. In other cases there will be unusual bleeding and bruising that just happens. For some patients they experience extreme fatigue and will lose their appetite completely which then affects their energy levels making them very low. In some reports one will feel like they are coming down with the flu. There is unbearable pain in the stomach especially the upper right of the stomach and then followed by jaundice which shows that the liver has been affected because now the patient will be yellowing. With all these side effects it is better to consult the doctor and not just discontinue taking Suboxone. The damage may be severe and medical attention is needed to try and prevent death.
