Adderall is a psychostimulant amphetamine drug that doctors prescribe to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy. It can also be paired up with other drugs to help counter mental and emotional conditions. In some cases, people mix Adderall and Wellbutrin.

What is Wellbutrin?

Depression can be a crippling mental health disorder. Without professional help, it can take control of a person’s life. A brand name form of bupropion,  Wellbutrin is an anti-depressant drug that can combat depression. Wellbutrin can help improve individuals’ moods, “pick them up” emotionally, and give them a sense of well-being. It re-establishes previously damaged chemicals that run the brain’s neurotransmitters. The drug can help with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and nicotine withdrawal. Additionally, some doctors prescribe it with bipolar disorder medication to counter depression symptoms. Like many drugs, individuals may experience side effects.

Some of these side effects may include:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Dry mouth
  • Headache
  • Constipation
  • Achy joints
  • Blurred vision

While these side effects may cause discomfort, individuals usually experience minimal side effects when they use the drugs and prescribed.

Combining Adderall and Wellbutrin

Both Adderall and Wellbutrin work to balance the brain’s neurotransmitters. They’re both prescribed to increase an individual’s well-being. Therefore, these two drugs can both work well to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Some doctors feel that the combination works well together in people who suffer from both ADHD and depression. The drugs work hand in hand to keep a person focused and performing with a clear mind.

Additionally,  the drugs also keep individuals calmer and more emotionally stable. However, because Adderall can be a highly addictive medication, it is important that the patient remains only uses these medications as prescribed. Abusing these drugs could be the start of a dangerous cycle. In fact, some patients report that the highs are as euphoric as ecstasy or cocaine. Other patients have found that taking Adderall and Wellbutrin curbed their appetites and eventually led to eating disorders. With each of these drugs it is important to follow instructions but most importantly it is essential to constantly stay in touch with your doctor so that if there is a problem or an imbalance in the dosage and it is causing the patient to be unsettled then it will be addressed. Other patients have expressed only pleasure and joy with the results of the drug.
