Oregon Alcohol & Drug Detox Facilities

The 2006 National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services indicates the number of treatment centers had a slight decline between 2002 and 2006, dropping from 232 to 224. In 2006, about 55% of the facilities were private non-profit operations and 25% were for-profit, privately-run facilities. Another 35 facilities were owned/operated by local or tribal governments.

Outpatient treatment was offered by 200 centers, and 50 provided in-house/in-patient residential care programs. There were 12 centers offering a program for opioid (opiates such as prescription pain killers and heroin) dependency, and 68 physicians were certified to use buprenorphine for opiate addiction treatment.
