Delaware Alcohol & Drug Detox Facilities
A report by the National Survey of the Substance Abuse Treatment Services stated the number of facilities in Delaware had stayed fairly stable with 42 in 2002 and 43 in 2006. Of those facilities, 29 were private non-profit and 11 were private for-profit or owned/operated by Federal, State or local governments.
At the time of the 2006 survey, 34 detox and rehab centers in Delaware provided some type of outpatient care while 12 facilities provided in-house/inpatient residential care. Opioid treatment programs for opiates, such as prescription pain killers and heroin, were offered by 4 facilities, and 24 physicians had been certified to provide buprenorphine for opiate addiction.
When looking for a supervised medical detox program, there are actually very few centers that specialize in this detox method in Delaware or throughout the country. Although many rehabilitation centers may offer some type of detoxification program, this treatment could be completely holistic, possibly based solely on vitamins, saunas, yoga and meditation.
